BIOGRAPHY

Born and raised in Montreal, I learned a bit of classical piano when I was very young then started guitar in the summer of '69 :) I've been doing shows since the early 1970s in various Montreal and Toronto bands, performing in venues such as the Colisée de Québec and le Café Campus, jamming with and learning from luminaries like Frank and Vince Marino (I was in a short-lived band with Vince in the 70s) and playing with people such as François Bourassa (a schoolmate) in Montreal, and in Toronto with players such as Jeff Healey, Tony Springer, Lori Yates, etc., in clubs like Derringer's and the Upper Lip in the 80s. I've also played guitar for Miranie Morissette.

I've recorded 3 solo albums: The Hunt, Children of the Night, and The Mime.

I worked at music stores such as Steve's in Montreal, and I also had bit of a career as a published photographer with works in many magazines, books, newspapers and web sites; I shot shows of bands such as the Rolling Stones, Black Sabbath, etc.,  and I also shot 2 albums for the band Anvil. I have a BA in History and Music Technology (2000) and a MLIS (2002) from McGill U where I taught in 2003 and 2005.

And amongst other interesting things, I'm doing editing for my mother Charlotte Fielden's books and French translation for Deep Purple singer Ian Gillan's Web site, Caramba. I've also written a book on 438 TAC HEL Squadron of the RCAF and am the proud recipient of the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal!

Godin xtSA, Fender HSS Strat, Gibson SGJs, Ovation Acoustic, Fender Mandolin, Fender Jazz Bass V, Boss ME-70 effects, Marshall AVT50 Combo and AVT50H head,  Boss Sy-300 Guitar Synth into Yorkville KB100 amps, MiniNova

 ENDORSEMENTS

I am using Godin guitars on AraPacis's live shows and on some tunes of our first CD and most tunes from all our other ones! The Godin xTsa is a fantastic axe that I can use to get an acoustic or electric sound as well as drive a Roland Synth with - the triple combination is really incredible-sounding!

I really enjoy the feel of my Clayton picks, they're comfortable and sturdy!

I use Roland and Boss equipment to get the many sounds I use live and in the studio, especially my  SY-300, my ME-70, and my Studio Capture for recording, just fantastic and versatile gear!
